Program Profile

The Department of Economics was established in 2019 within the Faculty of Managerial Sciences. The department provides 5-year undergraduate education including 1 year in the English Preparation Program in the AGÜ School of Foreign Languages. The department consists faculty members who have been trained in prestigious universities and are motivated to train the future leaders. Undergraduate curriculum is designed to encourage innovative problem-solving techniques with real life examples, and it offers a rich platform for exploring basic economic theory. The curriculum is designed to allow and enable students to pursue a diversity of career paths including academic careers, employment in public and private firms, and entrepreneurial careers. Students are assigned academic advisors to guide course selections, are exposed to both theoretical and applied courses within the field of economics, should take elective courses offered by the economics department and by other departments, are expected to perform one internship before graduation, and they are allowed to enroll in minor or double-major programs offered by various departments at AGÜ. The program started accepting students in the academic year 2019-2020.
