Objectives of the Course The course aims to develop students’ ability to analyze, evaluate, and optimize environmental conditions in workplaces to enhance both compliance and human well-being.
Course Content This course provides an in-depth exploration of how environmental factors
such as climate, sound, and lighting influence worker comfort, performance,
and well-being. Students will gain practical and theoretical knowledge of
auditory perception, vibration-related comfort, thermal comfort, thermal
stress, vision, and lighting. The course emphasizes workplace assessment
techniques and compliance with regulations and standards, preparing
students to design solutions that optimize environmental conditions for
improved ergonomic outcomes
Course Methods and Techniques Learners will be provided with as much opportunities of hands-on practice as possible with the aim of striking a balance between learner-centeredness and sufficient guidance. Various forms of interaction (i.e. pair work and group work) will also be encouraged to cater for learners with different learning styles. Additionally, individuals will be expected to produce both in-class writings and homework assignments in addition to the reading tasks, which will encourage them to reflect and think critically. Technology will also be incorporated into the classroom procedures in order to create a better learning environment
