The “Buildings through Details” course focuses on rediscovering and analyzing architectural details of urban buildings through various scales and techniques. Adopting a deductive and observational approach, the course emphasizes the study of building elements across different historical periods and construction methods through on-site investigation and diverse techniques of representation. Students will engage with the city’s architectural diversity and explore the evolution of building technologies and performance requirements, with particular attention to building element systems via observations. The course introduces the principles of structural and construction systems over time and encourages students to represent architectural details using a range of visual and technical media.
