Objectives of the Course Discussing foundations of environmentally responsive and culturally rooted architectural design approaches.
Exploring how circular construction techniques and materials can inform contemporary architectural thinking.
Designing details with environmental concerns for created building scenario in given context.
Support design development with physical models and prototypes through learning by doing.
Course Content Facing increasing environmental and energy-related challenges, as well as the need for culturally grounded practices, architecture has started to reintegrate local knowledge and materials. This course introduces environmentally conscious design approaches through discussions of sustainability, emphasizing the integration of circular design approach into contemporary architectural thinking. Through site-specific design exercises, students will investigate the use of low-impact materials, structural principles, and detail development within a defined context. The course promotes material awareness and design exploration by producing physical and digital models, allowing students to test and communicate their ideas through learning-by- doing approaches.
