Objectives of the Course O1. Explaining methods and tools for building performance simulation (BPS).
O2. Discussing case studies that utilize BPS in an architectural context.
O3. Examining BPS methods and tools appropriate for analysis objectives.
O4. Conducting case studies that integrate BPS tools into architectural design and existing building analysis processes.
Course Content “Building Performance Simulation in Architectural Practice” course focuses on building performance simulation (BPS) methods and tools employed both in the architectural design process and in the analysis of existing buildings. The significant contribution of the course is to equip students with the ability to select and apply appropriate methods and tools for computer-based building performance analysis. The “Exploring BPS” module primarily focuses on existing simulation methods and tools, analyzing their user interfaces, data requirements, limitations, and the provided results through existing applications. During the “Applying BPS” module, selected tools are used to conduct analyses within the architectural design process and to analyze existing buildings.
