Objectives of the Course Increasing awareness of environmental perception.
Experiencing natural material as a design input.
Exercising design process through different natural materials.
Course Content The main purpose of this course is to increase the environmental awareness of the students by learning from nature and thus to contribute to the design process. In other words, raising awareness for a sustainable environment is among the objectives of the course. In short, understanding nature, which is the starting point of all our living spaces, and experiencing it in the context of visual, tactile, semantic and redesign are the key points of this course.
Course Methods and Techniques In this course, teaching methods will be applied in a mixed manner. First;
• Lectured-Based Teaching
This learning method involves presenting information to students in a structured manner. This method, which is effective for presenting a large amount of information in a short time, will be applied in this course. The systematic transfer of new product development methods, weekly lectures on processes and methods in the processes constitute the first stage of this course
The second teaching method to be applied within the course;
• Project-Based Teaching
This method is a learning approach that emphasizes long-term learning activities instead of course applications and executive-centered lessons, is important for interdisciplinary approach, is student-centered, and is focused on real-life topics and applications. The aim of the project-based learning method is to provide basic knowledge and skills by developing projects that respond to real-life problems.

Course Notes This is research by design course; Therefore, research is an integral part of our design approach. Research may cover, but not limited to, assignments such as exploring digital libraries, collecting course related materials, reading texts and using online databases or resources for course-specific assignments. It is expected that the students are enthusiastic about performing well, being attentive, and conducting all necessary details of research
The project requires a process and therefore students are expected to actively participate.
