Objectives of the Course To train students to analyze continuous linear control systems.
To train students to use control engineering tools like root-locus, frequency response methods and state space representations.
To provide experience in using software packages to solve control problems.
To provide practice for developing critical thinking skills and solving open ended problems on mechatronic systems.
Course Content - Introduction to feedback control systems
- Modeling, transfer functions
- Electrical-mechanical-electromechanical modeling
- Transient and steady-state responses
- Stability analysis and Routh Hurwitz criterion
- Root locus
- Nyquist plot and stability
- Bode plots
- PID control
- State space representations
- State feedback control
