Objectives of the Course Providing a basic description for the fundamental principles behind nanotechnology and nanomaterials. Defining the main types of nanoparticles and their structure-property relationships at nanoscale.
Illustrations of recent applications of nanotechnology in different fields along with their economical and societal impacts.
Course Content This course introduces the working principles and applications of the emerging nanoscience and nanotechnology engineering fields from the perspective of basic sciences. Different classifications of nanomaterials and characterization& fabrication techniques of such materials will be discussed. In addition, historical development of nanoscience and nanotechnology engineering along with their economical and societal impacts will be addressed.
