Objectives of the Course
|
Providing a basic description for the fundamental principles behind nanotechnology and nanomaterials. Defining the main types of nanoparticles and their structure-property relationships at nanoscale. Illustrations of recent applications of nanotechnology in different fields along with their economical and societal impacts.

Course Content
|
This course introduces the working principles and applications of the emerging nanoscience and nanotechnology engineering fields from the perspective of basic sciences. Different classifications of nanomaterials and characterization& fabrication techniques of such materials will be discussed. In addition, historical development of nanoscience and nanotechnology engineering along with their economical and societal impacts will be addressed.
