To develop a cash flow for each alternative solution of a project, convert one type of cash flow to another type of cash flow using compounding factors and Excel Financial Functions Course Content The contents include basic concepts such as Cost Estimation Techniques, Price Changes and Exchange Rates, The Time Value of the Money, Project Evaluation and Selection among Alternatives, Evaluation Projects with the Benefit-Cost Ratio Method, Probabilistic Risk Analysis, Replacement Analysis, Breakeven and Sensitivity Analysis. Course Methods and Techniques In-class meetings will be in the planned class. We will be using various tools for active learning to take place. This is also a student-driven course. It is your responsibility to participate actively in class discussions. You are not graded on whether you agree or disagree with the instructor or with each other. Evaluation of class participation will be based on your ability to raise and answer important issues, to contribute ideas or insights, to build upon the ideas of others, ask questions to presenters, etc. By actively participating in the class discussions, you can sharpen your insights, and those of your classmates. Both the quality and frequency of your participation will count towards your active participation grade. Please note that high-quality or relevant contributions will earn you a higher participation grade than frequent but insignificant contributions. Also, you will not get any class participation points for just being present in class. Class attendance is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for scoring highly on the class participation. There will be teamwork (solving the given problem/case/question with a team) and quizzes throughout the term. These activities are designed to enhance collaborative skills and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the course material. Teamwork will encourage students to engage with diverse perspectives, fostering a deeper learning experience. Quizzes will serve as checkpoints to reinforce key concepts and track individual progress, helping to identify areas that may need further attention.
