Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to teach the fundamental principles related to the design of hydraulic structures encountered in engineering, such as dams, hydroelectric power plants, and irrigation systems. Students will learn the functions, design criteria, and engineering calculations of these structures to develop practical applications.
Course Content In this course, the basic design criteria of hydraulic structures which mainly include various components of dams; such as, spillways diversion tunnels and
channels, energy dissipators, intake structures, gates is taught.
