Course Content This course, briefly, consist of the introduction to Geographic Information
Systems (GIS), basic GIS components, GIS technology, data acquisition, data
structures, databases, database systems and concepts, vector and raster GIS
systems, GIS applications, error and uncertainty.
Course Methods and Techniques In the lab, students will perform a variety of problem-solving tasks that connect with concepts covered in the lecture. Other key skills practiced in lectures and/or labs include connecting hands-on GIS work to GIS theory, written communication, planning and organization, and interpersonal communication.
