Objectives of the Course To provide students a real-world experience in civil engineering practice.
The experience in the context of the practice may cover on-job/on-site practice of civil engineering profession such as engineering drawings and graphs, laboratory testing of construction materials, quantity of cost estimates, quality control and inspection on construction job sites, surveying, geotechnical applications etc.
Course Content This course provides an opportunity for the students to experience the work place by spending the whole semester at a company. The students are supposed to engage in engineering design and applications as well as project development/management works and industrial innovation studies ongoing at companies. They need to report their weekly activities regularly to the supervisors in the company and the department.
