Objectives of the Course - Learning wind resources, characteristics, wind energy and assessment, wind turbine types
- Solving engineering problems in wind energy sector.
- Recognizing wind turbine design fundamentals.
- Learning wind farms and associated issues.
Course Content Introduction to wind energy and assessment, historical perspective and future directions in energy conversation systems, vertical and horizontal turbines, small- and large-scale systems, rotor aerodynamics, safety and reliability, wind turbine siting, system design and integration, Weibull & Rayleigh distributions, control systems, design and performance of wind turbines, vibration problems.
