Objectives of the Course Identifying the tissue engineering approach.
Classifying different type of biomaterials.
Describing the scaffold fabrication techniques for tissue engineering host response.
Implementing all theoretical knowledge to solve practical tissue engineering problems.
Course Content In this course, the biomaterials design and fabrication as scaffold for tissue engineering applications will be covered. In the concept of the class, different type of materials, principles and biological pathways to tissue regeneration, host response to biomaterials, and scaffold fabrication techniques will be discussed as topics. The alternative or most appropriate way to design and fabrication of a scaffold for a specific tissue will be taught.
