Objectives of the Course Providing the details of basic principles of cancer development at the level of molecular and cell biology.
Making the students familiar with the basic concepts applied to cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Providing basic knowledge in the field in order to follow current literature.
Providing main knowledge behind the difficulties in the treatment of cancer.
Course Content This course provides an integrated lecture series summarizing current knowledge in cancer biology and integrating current literature with basic concepts. It will emphasize carcinogenesis, cell cycle and regulation, oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, angiogenesis, metastasis and invasion, interactions between tumor and its environment, multi drug resistance mechanisms, cancer stem cell and targeting of all steps of carcinogenesis for therapy.
