Objectives of the Course

• To define the basics concepts and approaches for molecular bioengineering techniques
• To apply the principles of molecular methods in understanding and regulating biological systems.

Course Content
|
The objective of this course is to introduce basic molecular biology techniques to graduate engineering students. Throughout the course, students will get insight into the scientific understanding and problem-solving abilities of an engineer. This course allows students to get technical knowledge and laboratory expertise for biological engineering research and design. The scope of the course includes laboratory safety and basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA isolation and sequencing, electrophoresis, transformation, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), ELISA and Western Blot etc.
