Objectives of the Course
|
This course involves identification of sustainable geotechnical and environmental properties of the solid waste, as well as geotechnical and environmental design techniques, and their application in constructing a sustainable site to enhance the environment and society. A variety of subjects such as, Waste minimization, reusing, and recycling; methods for selecting sites; the principles of waste decomposition; long-term stabilization and stability of waste materials; computational procedures for mass balance evaluation of gas migration, gas collection and recovery are within the scope of this course. The course aligns with doctorate level studies by integrating sustainable design principles with advanced topics like waste stabilization, decomposition, and resource recovery for innovative waste management solutions.
