Discussing the reusing of wastes in geotechnical engineering practices
Course Content
Solid waste generation, regulations and standards governing solid waste disposal, site selection, index properties soils and waste, compressibility and strength, site investigations, leachate and gas formation and soil structure, hydraulic properties of industrial waste and soils, geotechnical design considerations for solid waste landfill sites, design and stability analyses of landfill sites, settlement of soils and waste, the use of industrial wastes in geotechnical engineering projects. The course aligns with doctorate level studies by addressing the geotechnical aspects of solid waste management, including site investigations, waste-soil interactions, landfill design, and the innovative use of industrial wastes, fostering advanced problem-solving in sustainable geotechnical engineering practices.
