Objectives of the Course Urban Information System is one of the urban-based applications of geographic information systems. Especially large-scale urban data, spatial data integration with the lower-upper structure information is important for city managers. Engineering activities within the scope of the city with a more efficient use of urban planning and decision making process is accelerating.

Reached the dimensions of information technology and urban management, urban information systems are indispensable for effective decision constitute that aimed with the course.
Course Content In this course, concepts of Urban Information System (CBS) will be examined in detail. Municipal information systems, modeling in the city information system, technical and locally economic needs and reorganization activities in the city information system. The use and importance of the geographic information system will be mentioned in the city planning.
Course Methods and Techniques This is a hands-on course where students will learn the different GIS tools through various exercises, and
assignments. To equip the students with the concepts and principles of GIS, students will be exposed to the
methods and spatial analysis techniques behind each exercise and assignment.
