Objectives of the Course The aims of the course are to identify different IP types, to gain an IPR point of view in research, to implement IPR principles in the research for Bioengineering, and to identify patent applications and post-patent application processes.
Course Content This course focuses on basic principles of intellectual property rights (IPR) in Bioengineering. This class covers the types of IPR, searching patent databases, reading and understanding a patent application, and preparing for claim drafting.
