Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to introduce students the fundamentals of biostatistics and biostatistics methods with specific applications and examples in life sciences and to make them understand and evaluate the literature in their field. The course content includes the following topics: introduction to biostatistics and basic concepts; descriptive statistics; probability and probability distributions; sampling methods and parameter estimation; introduction to hypothesis testing and testing statistical assumptions; one-sample, two-sample and multi-sample inference with hypothesis testing; nonparametric tests; categorical data analysis; correlation and regression analysis.
