Objectives of the Course O1. Providing the details of basic principles of cancer development at the level of
molecular and cell biology
O2. Making the students familiar with the basic concepts applied to cancer
diagnosis and treatment
O3.Providing basic knowledge in the field in order to follow current literature
O4. Giving students main knowledge behind the difficulties in the treatment of
cancer
Course Content This course will emphasize the steps of carcinogenesis at the molecular level by specifically focusing on the hallmarks of cancer cells. Oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, cell cycle regulation, angiogenesis, metastasis and invasion, tumor environment, multi drug resistance mechanisms, cancer stem cell and targeting of all steps of carcinogenesis for therapeutic purposes will be covered throught the lecture.
