Objectives of the Course Assisting students increase their awareness of the definition of SDG 12.
Encouraging individuals and team members to actively engage in in-depth conversations about SDG 12.
Implementing team-oriented learning methods.
Fostering peer learning across different disciplines.
Course Content Increasing consumption and changing consumer behaviors in parallel with ever-growing population mandate new solutions in industries and infrastructures. Innovation in this perspective has gained much importance and is one of the key indicators of economic sustainability of the countries. Developing sustainable innovation strategies, via industry-university collaborations, and implementing these strategies seem to be of crucial importance for a sustainable world economy. In this regard, the SDG 12 set by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the UN focuses on building resilient infrastructures, promoting sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation. This goal of this course is to introduce the students to different approaches employed in different industries to developing innovation strategies. In addition, the course aims at raising awareness about the importance of corporate innovation and the necessity of investment in corporate innovation for sustainable development.
