Objectives of the Course Identifying chemical and physical properties of polymers.
Examining the physical and chemical characterization methods of polymers.
Describing polymerization types.
Course Content This course covers general polymer definition and polymer properties; the concepts of conformation, configuration and isomerization; the concept of polymer morphology; how thermal properties-freezing temperature, glass transition temperature, melting temperature, affect the structural properties of polymers, the concept of molecular weight, mechanical properties and measurement techniques; classification of polymers and classification of polymer characterization methods; It includes the polymerization process and fabrication techniques.
