Objectives of the Course Course objectives are to:
- Know about the wastes and their microbial valorization.
- Learn some applications of waste valorization.
- Develop a strategy for the microbial valorization of a specific waste as a team.
Course Content This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the various wastes as bioresources and their microbial valorization for a sustainable development. Particularly, microbial valorization of wastes from agro, food, plastic and textile industries will be covered. Some of applications of waste valorization such as bioethanol and biogas production will also be explored. Additionally, a term project for the microbial valorization of a specific waste will be designed and investigated by the students.
Students are expected to have a term project regarding the microbial valorization of a specific waste. Students will prepare a scientific report for the term project which will be written at 12 pt, Times New Roman, double space, justified and maximum 10 pages. Each student will present his/her project in last two weeks of the semester. The presentations will be maximum 30 min.
