Objectives of the Course Defining distinct aspects of cells, including how DNA stores the genetic code, how cells organize their cellular contents, including Golgi, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosome, peroxisome, mitochondria, and nucleus.
Describing a range of technologies to manipulate cellular processes.
Course Content The objective of this course is to introduce the chemical foundations and the subcellular organization of eukaryotic cells. In this course, cells have nucleic acid DNA as the genetic material, the genetic code, and protein structure and function will be covered. We will discuss the recombinant DNA technology and genome editing technologies (ZNF, TALEN and CRISPR/Cas9).
