Objectives of the Course To evaluate the quality of bioinformatics tools
Describe why bioinformatics is an essential area in life sciences
Course Content The course covers computational techniques developed for analyzing large amount of information produced by recent advances in biology. The main topics of the course include biological databases, sequence retrieval, pairwise sequence alignment, multiple sequence alignment approaches, phylogenetic trees, RNA and protein structure predictions, Gene Ontology, gene regulation analysis and biological networks.
