Objectives of the Course (1) To help students understand the anatomical and physiological fundamentals of brain and neural systems.
(2) To help students explain important neural diseases, and describe existing methods and technologies used in diagnosis and treatment of these diseases
(3) To make students literature, patent and product research and propose novel designs for a neural disease of their choice.
Course Content Fundamentals of neuroanatomy
Basic neuroelectrophysiology
Action potential propagation on a neuron and between neurons
Causes of neural diseases
Anatomical and functional imaging of brain and neural system
Technologies used in diagnosis and treatment of neural diseases
Brain-Computer interfaces
Development of a relatively novel diagnosis or treatment approach for a specific neural disease

4 LO4. Propose a novel treatment approach based on literature, patent, product, user experience research on a neural disease.
