Objectives of the Course

1) To learn the main steps of a typical biomedical measurement and processing system.
2) To learn physiological and anatomical background.
3) To understand the fundamentals of biomedical instrumentation.
4) To explain the methodologies in characterizing biosignals in time and frequency domain.

Course Content
|
This course introduces the fundamentals of instrumentation and signal analysis in biomedical field. The course covers the following main topics: Introduction to Biomedical Engineering, the basics of anatomy and physiology of cardiac, neural and muscular systems, fundamentals of sensors/transducers used in acquiring biosignals, theoretical and applied concepts in biosignal analysis used in filtering and information extraction.
