Objectives of the Course Discussing the interactions of the furniture with the user and relations of the street furniture with its context.
Interpreting ideas through necessary illustrations and architectural drawings through design process.
Examining interdisciplinary study during a design process.
Course Content The course is based on experimental street furniture design focuses on the research, concept building, design, and application processes involving alternative design and research tools. This semester, the aim is to design a user-centered street furniture in AGÜ Campus by involving it with the identity and spatial needs of the environment. User requirements and context are used as an input during all stages of the design process. The course will cover the research, ideation, development, and evaluation of various design approaches developed throughout the semester. The course will have a particular attention on the design process itself that will require students to record and report their process.
Course Methods and Techniques The course is structured around modules that are determined by the topic of each term. At the end of each module, students are expected to submit their outputs. Throughout the design process, students are required to use digital tools, drawings, and physical models.
