Objectives of the Course Raising awareness about specific minerals and elements among students taking the course.
Outlining the processing technologies of valuable mineral resources in the world.
Adapting the production technologies for future’s functional materials used in the renewable and clean energy generation.
Course Content Except for organic materials, everything is produced from minerals. Minerals and other valuable contents obtained from minerals are used in metals, plastic materials, construction and building industry, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, and many other sectors. In addition, fossil fuels used in energy production, fuels used in nuclear power plants, and materials produced to generate renewable energy are obtained by processing minerals. This course includes technological processes that can be applied to recover valuable contents from primary (minerals) and secondary (wastes) resources.
Course Methods and Techniques Face-to-face lessons, processing of theoretical knowledge, problem solving, technical trips and article reviews if possible.
