Objectives of the Course Recognizing and evaluating the historic, social, cultural, artistic/aesthetic, political and economic factors that generated Modern Architecture.

Critically comparing Modern Architecture, its concepts and sub-styles/genres distributed over a large geography in the time frame of the 20th century.

Comprehending and appreciating the geographical/regional and periodical plurality/variety of Modern Architecture.

Recognizing and critically comparing the different historiographies of Modern Architecture.

Defining and using the advanced terminology in relation with the subject
Course Content Course intends to create a critical point of view concerning Modern Architecture through an evaluation of the relevant design theory and discourse. Concepts, origin and sub-styles/genres distributed over a large geography in the time frame of the 20th century as well as the historic, social, cultural, artistic/aesthetic, political and economic factors that generated Modern Architecture will be comparatively discussed with the aim of illustrating its geographical/regional and periodical plurality/variety.
