Learning the main principles and philosophies for preservation and revalorization of built heritage.
Analyzing the data for reuse of historic buildings, contemporary additions to historic buildings and new buildings in historic environments.
Learning different contemporary design approaches in historic settings
Learning by discussing on different topics and the case studies on contemporary design in historic settings chosen by the students.

Course Content
|
The course intends to examine the revalorization of historic settings considering the principles and philosophies of conservation ethics, and analyze the physical characteristics of built heritage, and research new design in historic settings in building and environmental scale by discussing different approaches from abroad, as well as the comparison of similar cases from Turkey.
