Objectives of the Course
|
Today, the scope and quality of the public space design perspective have been chancing through the increasing power of organized civil society. In the post-modern era of architecture and urban design, participatory and urban right-oriented approaches come to the fore. The current concepts used in urban space design, which will be addressed within the scope of urban rights and responsibilities gained through the concept of the urbanite, will be used in the production of hypothetical alternative urban spatial solutions to be produced in the course. The context of the course will be created by addressing the spatial design concepts that affect the spatial and social design processes in cities in the course environment. In the light of current theoretical concepts, 3 different selected urban spaces will be reconsidered and redesigned in a critical design production environment. Hypothetical alternative urban solutions will be developed as a critique of urban daily life in the context of spatial design theories for the city parts determined within the scope of the course, and through the presentation of these solutions, students' ability to criticize urban space and present their ideas will be developed.
