Objectives of the Course
Recognizing the architectural artifact as a research challenge. Interpreting tangible and intangible values. Arguing the role of local dynamics and global effects on urban development. Executing different scales of design. Developing architectural research by examining space and place.
Course Content
Studio 2 deals with an advanced design challenge to criticize existing urban patterns and develop interdisciplinary approaches for its spatial transformation from a global perspective. Studio 2 tackles the city as a built environment and seeks a new spatial design challenge to reconsider its social and physical aspects in a global context. It aims to (re)produce the space and architectural artifact to explore its contradictions in daily life in an interdisciplinary context. Therefore, Studio 2 will focus on the theme “Reforming Talas” through the parameters and future projections developed in Studio 1.
