Objectives of the Course The objectives of the course are:
• Mastery of basic design elements of research methodology
• Familiarity with generating research questions and designing research studies.
• Familiarity with professional and ethical issues in the conduct and publication of research in abnormal psychology
• Enhance a critical and self-reflective understanding of evaluating case examples in abnormal psychology
Course Content The course is an applied opportunity to learn how to conduct a research study on a topic that investigates a particular abnormal behavior along with reviewing some abnormal psychology cases in detail. Therefore, the course contains attending lab exercises, presentation and paper on a specific research topic in abnormal psychology along with discussing case examples on the topics chosen.
Course Methods and Techniques In-class lab exercises, brief lectures, class discussions, case report assignments and case discussions, presentation on a selected topic, writing a research paper
