This course serves as an introductory exploration of South Asian economies, spanning from Pakistan to Bangladesh, Nepal to the Maldives, united by close cultural ties and a shared history, such as British colonial rule. Gaining demographic and economic significance, the region is poised to play a crucial role in addressing global challenges like poverty, inequality, and climate change. The course analyzes institutional and cultural aspects, impacting economic structures and the development of South Asian countries, including their foreign economic relations. Students will grasp essential considerations for business relations with South Asian countries.
