Objectives of the Course
|
Identifying theoretical knowledge of modern tools and techniques for manipulation and analysis of genomic sequences will be discussed. Describing differences and pros or cons of techniques will be discussed to allow students to choose the most suitable one for a particular experimental set up. Strategizing research methodologies employing genetic engineering techniques. Emphasizing the application of recombinant DNA technology in biotechnological research.

Course Content

The course content aims at the manipulation of nucleic acids, basic tools and techniques. In this course, isolation and separation of nucleic acids, Molecular analysis of nucleic acid sequences are described. This course aims at Polymerase Chain Reaction, Nucleic acid sequencing methodologies, Introduction to cloning: Cloning vectors, Applications of gene cloning and also Molecular Biotechnology and applications.
