Objectives of the Course • To analyze the complexities and interdependencies of supply chain components, focusing on dynamic and global contexts.
• To apply advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to real-world supply chain challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• To invest the impact of digital transformation, including AI and blockchain, on supply chain efficiency and responsiveness.
• To design and evaluate sophisticated logistics networks, incorporating risk management and sustainability considerations.
• To cultivate a strategic mindset for global supply chain leadership, emphasizing collaborative approaches and ethical decision-making.
Course Content The course explores advanced supply chain management, focusing on the complexities and interdependencies of supply chain components within dynamic environments. Topics include evaluating supply chain complexity, formulating innovative solutions for intricate challenges using analytical tools, and assessing the impact of emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and the principles of Logistics 4.0 and Supply Chain 4.0 on efficiency and decision-making. Students will design resilient logistics systems that integrate risk management and sustainability principles, while applying systems thinking for global optimization and ethical leadership. The course includes practical case studies and projects, enabling students to implement their knowledge through contemporary supply chain management practices.
Course Methods and Techniques The course will be held in-class. CANVAS will be used for all announcements, course materials. You are responsible to follow the CANVAS regularly. This is also a student-driven course. It is your responsibility to participate actively in class discussions. Evaluation of class participation will be based on your ability to raise and answer important issues, contribute ideas or insights, build upon the ideas of others, ask questions to presenters, etc. By actively participating in the class discussions, you can sharpen your insights. Both the quality and frequency of your participation will count towards your active participation grade. Also, you will not get any class participation points for just being present in class. Class attendance is a necessary but not sufficient condition for scoring highly on class participation.
