Objectives of the Course The objective of this course is to provide university level chemistry with special emphasis on the topics which are more important to understand chemical processes in life sciences. These topics include scientific thinking, describing the basic concepts of general chemistry, explaining the importance of chemistry in biological processes, appreciating the importance of chemistry in biological processes and understanding the importance of chemistry in biological processes.
Course Content This course is designed to teach students basic concepts of chemistry. It starts with introduction to chemistry and progresses toward chemistry of life covering topics such as the basic properties of atoms and molecules, chemical reactions and their kinetics, laws of thermodynamics and gas laws. During the course, the related topics from life sciences will be used as an example.
