Course Content
|
The course deals with the major elements of biotechnology and its global significance, the categories of biotechnological processes and products, and a comparison between "traditional" vs "modern" biotechnology processes. In addition, following topics will be covered: 1) the key developments in the history of biotechnology specifically - fermentation, 2) genetic engineering and cloning of animals, 3) growing animal cells, tissues and meat, 4) genetic engineering of plants 5) genome editing and regulations, and 6) bacteriophages.
