Objectives of the Course
|
- to introduce signals and systems concepts that are fundamental to all DSP techniques and telecommunication systems
- to provide a working knowledge of the design, implementation and analysis of digital filters and their use in telecommunication systems
- to provide a working knowledge of modulation techniques used in analog and digital communication and the use of DSP fundamentals in them
- to provide the student with the necessary background on ADC and DSP hardware
- to provide hands-on experience in the design and analysis of transmitting and receiving signals wireless and processing them using appropriate signal processing approaches

Course Content
|
Analog communication fundamentals, modulation types (AM and angle), discrete-time signals and systems, AD converters, z-transform, discrete-time Fourier transform, fast Fourier transform, discrete Fourier transform, digital filters, digital communication fundamentals, amplitude, phase and frequency shift keying, pulse code modulation, speech processing, behavior of communication systems in the presence of noise.
