Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to develop students' basic language skills, such as reading, listening, writing, and speaking, based on the everyday use of the French language, while also strengthening their ability to communicate in a cultural context.
Course Content This course aims to develop French reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. Language practice is conducted through the alphabet, pronunciation, daily dialogues, short texts, and discussions.
Course Methods and Techniques Learners will be provided with as much opportunities of hands-on practice as possible with the aim of striking a balance between learner-centeredness and sufficient guidance. Various forms of interaction (i.e. pair work and group work) will also be encouraged to cater for learners with different learning styles. Additionally, individuals will be expected to produce both in-class writings and homework assignments in addition to the reading tasks, which will encourage them to reflect and think critically. Technology will also be incorporated into the classroom procedures in order to create a better learning environment.

The content of this course includes developing students' French reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. The first section covers the French alphabet, pronunciation, and basic greetings. The listening skills section focuses on understanding through daily dialogues and short conversations. To improve reading skills, simple texts, short stories, and news articles are used. In the writing section, students are encouraged to write short notes, messages, and simple paragraphs. Finally, to develop speaking skills, students engage in daily life dialogues and participate in simple discussions.
