Course Content
|
This course is designed to give students theoretical and practical knowledge about how to use statistical package programs (eg R) for data entry and analysis, and how data analysis is applied in social science research. The course focuses on basic statistical concepts and methods; firstly, the creation of data files, the coding of data, input or conversion will be discussed. It will not only focus on how to transfer data to the R program, but also how to avoid some common errors in the generation and encoding of data. Secondly, in this context, students will be able to decide on error checking, transforming, labeling and measuring levels of data. Thirdly, they will be able to analyze, comment and make presentations by using simple statistical techniques with the help of computers.
