Course Content
|
This course will focus on how the broader masses of governance, rather than the rulers, structure their political views and the factors that change these ideas. In addition, the course will assess the usefulness of various theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches used in public opinion research. Political socialization, social identities (class, religion, gender, ethnicity), social movements, social capital, social networks will be discussed. Students will be encouraged to prepare their own research projects for the course and explore the topics in more detail.
