Objectives of the Course 1- Developing Critical and Creative Thinking Skills
2- Familiarizing students with social and political phenomena
Course Content This course will focus on how the broader masses of governance, rather than
the rulers, structure their political views and the factors that change these
ideas. In addition, the course will assess the usefulness of various theoretical
perspectives and methodological approaches used in public opinion research.
Political socialization, social identities (class, religion, gender, ethnicity),
social movements, social capital, social networks will be discussed. Students
will be encouraged to prepare their own research projects for the course and
explore the topics in more detail.
Course Methods and Techniques Case Studies: Examples and analyses of public opinion surveys.

Group Discussions: Discussions on factors influencing the formation of public opinion.

Media Analysis: Analyzing the effects of media on public opinion.

Public Opinion Surveys: Practical analysis through real-life public opinion surveys.

Literature Review: Analyzing academic articles related to public opinion studies.
