Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to explore the political structures and social dynamics of cities through literary works. Students will learn basic theoretical frameworks on literature and politics and analyze the role of cities in the construction of social and cultural identities.

Course Content
|
This course focuses on the place of city and urban relations in literary production. In this sense, the main problem of the course will be what kind of political, social, cultural and economic tensions the cities produce as a public space, and how literary genres are fed from these tensions and how they produce an aesthetic response.

Course Methods and Techniques
|
The course will be conducted in a seminar style, encouraging active participation from students. Students will read on cities and literature, engage in group discussions, and present written analyses. Case studies and literary analyses of key works will also be part of the course.
