Objectives of the Course Introducing seminal empirical research articles in the field of economics.
Providing foundational knowledge on existing empirical research methodologies in the economics literature.
Developing skills to analyze and discuss steps of developing an empirical research project.
Course Content The course aims to introduce the nature of the existing milestone empirical research in economics, and thus to increase the knowledge of students in relation to empirical subjects and empirical research in economics through examples. 3-4 influential empirical research examples are examined in both microeconomics and macroeconomics through academic articles. Through the course, students are provided with the opportunity to see and discuss applications, extensions and various usage ways and areas of the empirical concepts and subjects they have encountered in core economics courses.
