Introducing the fundamental theories explaining economic growth. Illustrating the diversity of theories and perspectives within growth literature. Providing knowledge on the patterns of structural transformations. Introducing existing policy options to enhance economic growth.

Course Content
|
Course is aimed at examining issues related to economic growth from both theoretical and empirical perspectives starting from the basic definitions, terminology and questions in growth economics. Basic theories of economic growth, growth policies, structural transformations, effects of economic growth on economic dynamics (such as production and consumption) and related subjects are examined throughout the course. In addition, contemporary applications and issues such as sustainable growth, effects of economic growth on social dynamics and vice versa are discussed in detail.
