|
Introducing the basic concepts and methodology of health economics. Showing examples of economic problems and challenges associated with common and main health systems. Illustrating implementations of microeconomic and macroeconomic tools and theories in order to examine economic problems related to health sector.

Course Content
|
Main aims of the course are to provide an introduction for conceptual definitions and a basic understanding of interactions between consumers, firms, governments, health services, and health spending. Microeconomic models and empirical studies are used as basic tools throughout the course to analyze these interactions. In addition, topics such as demand for health services, supply of health services, market types in the health sector, health insurance, and economic evaluation in health services are examined throughout the course.
