Providing foundations for analyzing policy problems using theories of political economy. Introducing how economic and political factors interact to shape and influence policy outcomes. Illustrating how to analyze policy challenges and related concerns critically and analytically from a political economics perspective. Examining some example/widely used critical political analyses.

Course Content
|
Course is designed to introduce basic topics in the political economy including their relations to both microeconomics and macroeconomics. Main subjects in political economy are examined at undergraduate level. Example subjects are: voting, agency, conflict resolution, social choice, collective decision making, bargaining, allocation, efficiency, corruption, and examinations, modeling, and applications of these subjects in the area of economics. Subjects are examined from different perspectives including both theoretical and empirical studies related to them.

Course Methods and Techniques
|
This course will use methods such as case studies, literature reviews on political economy theories, and group discussions. Students will apply political economy models to analyze policy issues and examine political and economic interactions through both historical and contemporary events. Additionally, classic texts and critical articles on political economy will be used to reinforce theoretical knowledge.
